About Lauren

Lauren is a special counsel based in our Perth office. Lauren is a competition and regulatory specialist, with extensive experience across the entire energy sector. Lauren works with clients across heavily regulated industries and markets, particularly electricity and gas markets nationally.

Lauren has experience dealing with regulators, including the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Australian Energy Regulator and the Economic Regulation Authority, market operators and market participants and has advised on proposed energy policy initiatives and legislative and regulatory developments nationally. Lauren regularly advises on major energy projects including wind farms, solar farms, battery storage, gas supply arrangements and electricity supply arrangements from both renewable and non-renewable sources.

Lauren has advised clients on and drafted supply agreements, access arrangements, standard form contracts, term sheets, connection agreements, shipping arrangements, compliance manuals and related documentation for the generation, sale, purchase and supply of gas and electricity.

Lauren regularly advises clients in respect of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (including the Australian Consumer Law) on matters including misleading and deceptive conduct, anti-competitive arrangements, exclusive dealing and misuse of market power. Additionally Lauren advises clients in relation to privacy, including data protection, as well as compliance with industry specific regulatory frameworks and requirements, such as point to point transport and retirement villages.
