About Jean

Jean is a Partner in the Shipping team and the Head of Dry Shipping in London.

She specialises in litigation involving charterparties, bills of lading, cargo claims, MOAs and shipbuilding / repair contracts. She advises a global client base of owners, operators, shipyards and insurers, with a strong focus on the Japanese market.

Jean has extensive experience in handling major casualties including fires, explosions, engine breakdowns, groundings, safe port claims, container stack collapse and overboard losses and general average incidents. She advised on the high-profile grounding of a mega containership in the Suez Canal and is also handling one of the largest container collapse incidents. Jean is also handling a number of fire incidents on pure car carriers.

Jean has spent time in the firm’s Shanghai and Piraeus offices, and also spent six months on secondment to an insurer in Tokyo. Jean is fluent in Mandarin. 

Since 2022, she has been recognised in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Shipping.
