About George

George is an English-qualified shipping, yachting and international trade lawyer based in our Monaco office. He has a wide practice, encompassing contentious wet and dry commercial shipping, insurance and yachting and international trade & commodities matters as well as general commercial disputes.

George’s shipping practice is particularly focused on charterparty disputes, cargo claims, yachting and contracts for the supply and carriage of goods by sea. He is equally involved in international trade & commodities disputes, focussing on disputes arising out of the sale and purchase of cargoes.

George has primarily acted in arbitration, both institutional arbitrations such as the LCIA and ad-hoc under the LMAA rules, but also has High Court experience, including both the Commercial and Admiralty Courts.

The 2024 edition of Legal 500 EMEA recognised George as a “Rising Star” in Commercial, Corporate, with the 2025 edition ranking George as a “Leading Associate”.
