About Christopher
Christopher is a Partner in HFW’s Construction team, specialising in back-end disputes, project delivery and front-end on major projects throughout Australia. Christopher has particular expertise in large arbitration, adjudication and court litigation, involving issues of termination, delay, disruption, quantum, defects and complex technical disputes.
He adopts a hands-on approach to working with project teams, which has seen him spend significant time on site on LNG and large infrastructure projects. This approach allows Christopher and his team to gain a nuanced understanding of the technical and commercial issues on projects, and cut to the heart of the issue.
Christopher forges deep and ongoing relationships with clients, allowing him to understand their businesses, priorities, and commercial drivers. He deploys strategies to resolve disputes without resorting to formal dispute resolution procedures, including through the use of project reset deeds, that preserve relationships and align project teams. When formal dispute resolution is unavoidable, Christopher leverages his experience on some of Australia’s largest disputes to get advantageous results.
Christopher is a leading Queensland construction litigation lawyer (Doyles Guide, 2025-2018), the Queensland Editor of the Building and Construction Law Journal, and an external author on construction law for LexisNexis.
