Chris joined HFW’s Singapore Shipping practice in 2019 as a Consultant.

A renowned former shipbroker, he has almost 50 years’ experience in the shipping industry, specialising in newbuilding and sale and purchase broking.

Based in Singapore since 1982, Chris has a wealth of knowledge of the diverse Asian markets and is a well-known figure in the Singapore shipping community in particular.

Chris’s skills and knowledge further strengthen HFW’s established, dedicated ship closing offering; our Singapore office handles, on average, 200-250 ship closings a year.

Additionally, Chris’s expertise with past and current freight rates and his ability to undertake valuation work offers valuable insight that complements our legal offering to our clients operating in the maritime industry.

Chris has also worked as an expert witness in London and Singapore and was a licenced ship valuer.
