About Jack
Jack specialises in international commercial dispute resolution, with a focus on shipping, offshore and logistics disputes. His clients include shipowners, charterers, commodities traders and their insurers and P&I clubs, for whom he has acted in High Court litigation and arbitration.
During Jack’s training he undertook a six-month secondment to the firm’s Hong Kong office, where he worked on a range of shipping related matters. He has also spent time seconded to the in-house legal team of an AIM listed London based mining company.
Recent work includes:
- acting for a South American mining company in a mediation concerning liquefaction of an iron ore cargo;
- acting for charterers in an LMAA arbitration arising out of an oil spill sustained during a failed STS transfer operation;
- advising an Asian hull and machinery insurer on the implications of newly imposed Iranian sanctions; and
- acting for a shipping and logistics company in High Court litigation concerning alleged improper awarding of emergency freight contracts in preparation for the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.
Jack is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales.
