About George
George is a Senior Associate and English Solicitor in HFW’s Shipping team. His expertise is focused on commercial shipping, yachting, international trade and marine insurance. He is based in our Monaco office, having relocated in 2017.
George specialises in dispute resolution and advisory work. His commercial shipping and yachting experience covers marine casualties, charterparty disputes, cargo claims, newbuild, sale and purchase, refit disputes, and marine insurance issues. George also works for bulk, metal and oil commodity traders.
George acts in international arbitration, both institutional arbitrations such as the LCIA and ad-hoc under the LMAA rules. He regularly attends the High Court in London, primarily the Commercial and Admiralty Courts. He is an active member of Monaco’s maritime community, co-founding YoungShip Monaco and regularly attending the Monaco Propeller Club.
