The newly published first edition of the Ports & Terminals handbook in the well-known Getting the Deal Through series provides an overview of the key legislation and regulations affecting the ports industry in numerous jurisdictions worldwide.

The handbook provides information on key ports in major jurisdictions and summarises the legal position in those jurisdictions, including in relation to port construction, development and operation, state policies and legislative frameworks for port development and reform (including public procurement and PPP legislation), relevant regulatory authorities and their powers, competition regulations, tariffs, and contractual disputes and remedies.

As recognised legal experts in the ports and terminals industry HFW was invited to be the contributing editors of the handbook and HFW Corporate/Infrastructure Partner Alex Kyriakoulis provided the introductory global overview.

HFW Partner Amanda Davidson OAM, Consultant Christopher Eves and Associate Anne-Laure Bullier contributed the Australian chapter of the handbook.

HFW Consultant Connie Chen and Paralegal Joyce Fong contributed the China chapter of the handbook.

HFW Partner Alex Kyriakoulis and Associate Joseph Botham contributed the UK chapter of the handbook.

All three chapters are available to download here.
