Senior Associate
We are looking for a Senior Associate to join the Shipping (Transactional Shipping/Ship Finance) team.
The department
Our global shipping group consists of around 250 lawyers working across our fully integrated network of internal offices covering specialisms through the full shipping life cycle, and all segments and stakeholders in the industry (including dry bulk, tankers, offshore, cruise, ferry, superyachts etc.).
Within the shipping group sits the transactional shipping team whose practice covers the whole spectrum of transactional shipping from shipbuilding, projects, sale and purchase and ship finance to repair, regulatory and recycling.
The role
This role is to work as a central member of the transactional shipping team as an experienced Associate or as a Senior Associate on all types of matters but with a particular emphasis on either, or both of: (1) sale and purchase, shipbuilding, charterparties and other maritime contracts and project work and (2) shipping and offshore finance (including debt, leasing, equity etc.).
Key skills & experience required
- 5 years’ PQE, currently operating at Senior Associate level or equivalent, with responsibility of managing others.
- You will have excellent drafting and transaction management skills.
- You will be used to taking on a high degree of responsibility for the cases that you work on.
- You will be motivated, enthusiastic and able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
- You will relish client contact, with strong business development and client engagement skills.
- You will also be expected to play an active role in practice and business development.
- International travel will be required.
