Legal – Intern
We are looking for a Legal Intern to join our 4‑week internship program, offering two seat rotations across our sector focus groups in Aerospace, Commodities, and Shipping.
The opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join HFW, a leading international law firm with a strong footprint in the Asia-Pacific region and a long-standing history in international commerce. HFW offers excellent opportunities for professional development and growth, with a diverse and collaborative team of over 700 lawyers, including 180 partners, and over 400 business services professionals based in offices across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. HFW prides itself on its deep sector-focused expertise and its entrepreneurial, creative, and collaborative culture. We are, unapologetically, true sector experts. Clients come to us because of our deep industry knowledge and ability to talk their language. Bearing the commercial solution in mind, we underpin our advice with a solid foundation of legal expertise.
What to expect
During this 4-week internship program, you will have the opportunity to undergo two seat rotations (subject to availability), either in two of our three sector focus groups: Aerospace, Commodities, and Shipping. In each rotation, you can expect to gain valuable experience by engaging in various research tasks, including legal research to support ongoing cases and providing updates on recent Singapore/UK judgments or relevant legal matters, that will potentially be used in our publications. Working closely with our specialist practice teams, you will gain practical experience drafting legal memos, accompanying client meetings and attending client events as appropriate. At the end of the program, you will deliver a presentation centred on research projects or pre-assigned case studies. This presentation will serve as a summary of your learning.
What we are looking for
A 2nd or 3rd year law student passionate about our sector focus, an excellent communicator, and a well-rounded team player with great attention to detail.
How to apply
Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume/CV including a cover letter explaining their interest, available month and copies of their latest transcripts to singaporeearlycareers@hfw.com.
