More about Andrew

Andrew Charlier is an experienced transactional lawyer specialising in yachts and superyachts, business aviation and general business and finance. He is a qualified English solicitor.

Prior to joining HFW, Andrew was the global head of yachting for another international law firm and he has extensive experience advising clients on all aspects of the yachting industry, including the purchase and sale, construction, financing, chartering and registration of large yachts. His practice also covers business aviation transactions namely negotiation and documentation of sales, purchases, finance and leasing, management, regulatory issues, corporate structuring and registration.

In general corporate and commercial matters, Andrew provides advice on commercial contracts, employment, insolvency, disposals of companies, businesses and assets, start-ups, joint ventures and shareholder agreements. Industry guides regularly identify Andrew as market leader in yachting matters, citing his "huge amount of experience in yacht transactions" and "deep understanding of the industry". According to Chambers & Partners HNW 2019, clients say "the 'sheer breadth of what he is involved in' is 'a key strength,' which 'comes from a long knowledge of the sector. His strength is being able to ask the right questions and appraise the contribution being made by other experts.'

We are working with clients across our international network to help them minimise the impact of COVID-19 on their business and to prepare for what's next. To find out more, visit our dedicated Covid-19 hub.
