Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has won four awards at the 2019 China Business Law Awards.
HFW was named Law Firm of the Year for Aviation, Dispute Resolution, Insurance and Reinsurance, and Shipping.
It is the third consecutive year that HFW has won the Aviation and Shipping awards.
The awards are based on nominations from China-focused corporate counsel, senior managers and legal professionals around the world.
Judges from China Business Law Journal considered HFW’s deals, cases and other notable achievements over the past year, and sought client feedback on satisfaction with the firm’s services.
Nicholas Poynder, Shanghai Office Head, HFW:
“We are very pleased to have won CBLJ’s aviation and shipping awards for the third year running, and it is encouraging to also be recognised by clients and peers as China’s leading law firm for insurance and disputes. We always aim to exceed our clients’ expectations, and feel that our deep industry expertise across our core sectors sets us apart in a crowded legal market.”
HFW has been in China for 20 years and enhanced its offering in 2016 by becoming only the second international law firm to secure a local association under the Shanghai FTZ rules, with Chinese firm Wintell & Co.
The firm recently relocated to larger premises in Shanghai to accommodate its continued growth in China, following its launch of a transactional practice with the hire of a corporate and finance team.
