Independent data has revealed that HFW handled more litigation in the English Commercial Court over the first three quarters of 2021 than any other law firm.
HFW acted on 11 cases in the Commercial Court during that period, according to The Lawyer’s Litigation Tracker. Its 49 days in the Court over the first nine months of the year are almost twice that of the second-ranked law firm by number of cases.
Several HFW partners feature prominently in the individual rankings by number of cases in the Commercial Court over the same period, with Alistair Feeney joint top and Brian Perrott joint third.
HFW was also joint top for commercial litigation in the English Commercial Court in the first three quarters of 2020 by number of cases.
Noel Campbell, Head of HFW Litigation: “It’s very easy as a law firm to say that you have a leading litigation practice, so it’s always nice to have independent data do the talking for you. Dispute resolution is at the very core of our business at HFW, and we frequently litigate on behalf of our clients in courts around the world.”
HFW has more than 350 specialist disputes lawyers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, handling high-value, complex, multi-party and multi-jurisdictional disputes, including fraud and asset recovery, insolvency, class actions, and enforcement actions.
The firm recently joined with other leading figures across the UK disputes industry to launch a major report that reveals for the first time the enormous value of English law to the UK economy.
