International law firm Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) is delighted to announce that Hugues de La Forge has joined its Paris office as a Projects Partner.

Hugues advises public bodies, sponsors and industrial players in the construction and energy sectors in both major projects and in international arbitration proceedings, particularly in Africa and the Middle East. Prior to joining HFW, Hugues was a Partner at Jeantet in their Energy, Mining and Infrastructure department. He previously gained significant experience as Legal Director at Bouygues Construction, in particular handling infrastructure, PPP and arbitration matters, before becoming a lawyer at Gide based in Casablanca. He joins with two Associates.

The recruitment of this team further enhances the firm’s capabilities in infrastructure and projects across a range of sectors, including in particular ports and terminals and renewable energies, and provides major synergies with the firm’s existing Middle East construction and infrastructure practice, where there is strong demand for non-contentious construction and projects law.

Robert Follie, Managing Partner of the firm’s Paris office commented: “We are delighted to welcome Hugues and his team to the firm. Their extensive experience of handling project finance and transactions in Africa, particularly where French law is applicable, further strengthens the services the Paris office can offer to clients operating there.”
