Global, sector-focussed law firm HFW has announced the qualification of two trainees based in the firm’s Riyadh office.

Sultan Almutairi and Abdullah O Alrubh, who sit within the firm’s disputes’ practice, have qualified and have been promoted to Advocate – the first qualifications seen in the firm’s KSA office.

The promotions mark the latest step in the firm’s ongoing growth across the Middle East. In July 2025, HFW relocated its Riyadh offering to a new, larger office at Tuwaiq Gate in order to accommodate and better serve the growing Saudi-based team.

With HFW being one of the select group of international law firms licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Justice back in November 2023, the Riyadh office now includes partners Abdulrahman Al-Ohaly (who leads the firm’s Riyadh office), Euan Pinkerton, Francesco Fiorilli and the most recent relocation of Justin Whelan.

Abdulrahman Al-Ohaly, Partner, HFW:

“At HFW, we pride ourselves as a firm in supporting and developing talent. The qualification of Sultan and Abdullah is another significant step in the continued development of our offering in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Their promotions demonstrate our firm’s commitment to improving client services in the region and pave the way for our future talented trainees.”

HFW is one of the fastest-growing law firms in the Middle East, with its revenue in the region increasing by more than 60 percent between 2022 and 2024. The firm has been in the Middle East since 2006 and has 22 partners and 62 lawyers in total across its offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait City, and Riyadh, making it one of the largest and longest-standing practices of any international law firm in the region.
