Holman Fenwick Willan has boosted its partnership ranks with the announcement of nine new Partners across its international offices and core sectors of focus, including aerospace, energy & natural resources, construction & infrastructure, insurance and shipping. The announcement highlights the firm’s continued commitment to the expansion of its international offering in support of its positioning as leader in the market for international commerce. The promotions are effective from 1 April 2013.

In Hong Kong, Vincent Liu joins the partnership to support the continued growth of the firm’s construction practice through Asia and the Middle East, with existing Partners Nick Longley (HK) and Paul Suckling (Dubai), while Ashleigh Williamson’s promotion continues the development of the Aerospace practice in the Asia-pacific region, where the firm has a market leading reputation for serving the needs of the industry.

In Singapore, Michael Buisset‘s promotion further enhances the shipping capability available in Singapore and across the Asia-Pacific region, and comes on the back of the recent promotion and relocation of Dominic Johnson from London to Singapore and Paul Apostolis’ move from Hong Kong to Singapore, all to serve growing client needs in this important shipping and offshore centre.

In Australia, the firm welcomes Matthew Blycha to the partnership. Matthew’s experience as a corporate lawyer expands the capability of the Perth office, particularly in the energy and natural resources sector where we continue to see growth.

In Dubai, Yaman Al Hawamdeh joins the partnership and will continue to grow the well respected local and international litigation capability from that office. Corporate lawyer Ian Chung is also promoted and his skills and experience enhance the firm’s offering for domestic and international clients wishing to conduct transactions throughout the GCC region.

In Europe, Pierre-Olivier Leblanc is promoted in Paris, where he joins a growing insurance team, having also recently announced the recruitment of Pierre-Etienne Kuehn, the former Head of Legal and Compliance at AXA Group. While in London, Daniel Martin is welcomed to the partnership. Daniel, a shipping and regulatory specialist is widely recognised for his work advising clients on the issue of sanctions, a significant growth area.

The firm also continues its investment in the Latin America region with the promotion of aviation specialist Fernando Albino in the São Paulo office, having also recently also announced the relocation of Senior Associate Geoffrey Conlin to that office.

Richard Crump, HFW’s Senior Partner said:

“We are delighted to announce these promotions and to welcome such high-calibre individuals to the partnership. The international spread of these promotions reflects entirely our commitment to international expansion in our core sectors of focus and ensures that we continue to provide clients with the service and capability they require in the markets in which they operate.”
