Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has won the Excellence in Maritime Law award at the Lloyd’s List Global Awards, which recognises the world’s best shipping law firm.

The award was judged by a panel of senior industry experts, who praised HFW for its “consistent attention to detail, impressive record and experience in dealing with high-value and complex shipping disputes”.

The judges also noted the continued expansion of HFW’s global shipping practice in 2019. The firm launched in Monaco with the hire of a market-leading team led by partners Ian Cranston, Andrew Charlier and Marco Crusafio, and boosted its Singapore practice with the hire of partner Christopher Metcalf and renowned former shipbroker Christopher Jones.

Paul Dean, Global Head of Shipping, HFW:

We work hard as a firm to offer clients the very best service, and will continue to invest in strengthening and broadening our offering around the world to ensure that we meet our clients’ changing needs in this evolving and dynamic industry.”
