Global law firm HFW has appointed Marni Isaacson as a Senior Associate in its trade finance team, marking the latest phase in its ongoing growth.
Marni joins HFW having previously served as general counsel for a global physical commodities company based in Geneva. Prior to this, Marni advised on global finance and financial restructuring matters as a senior associate at Stroock & Stroock and Lavan LLP (and later Paul Hastings LLP) in New York.
This hire is the latest step in the firm’s expansion of its trade finance footprint. Being qualified in New York and New Jersey, Marni’s appointment increases the firm’s offering for the firm’s trading clients and banks financing trade and inventory flows with the US and Latin America, where financing is traditionally governed by New York law.
Marni has extensive experience representing banks, hedge funds and borrowers in both distressed and non-distressed matters, across a variety of complex financial transactions including debtor-in-possession financing, bridge facilities, syndicated loans, margin lending, ABLs/revolvers, letters of credit and restructurings.
Her practice extends across a wide range of industries, including energy, oil and gas, metals, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, manufacturing and crypto.
Marni Isaacson, Senior Associate, HFW:

The firm’s global reach and deep expertise in the commodities sector makes this a great next step in returning to private practice, and I look forward to supporting our clients navigate complex cross-border financings.”
Olivier Bazin, Partner and Head of Global Banking and Finance, HFW:
“We’re delighted to welcome Marni to the team. Her experience as both a private practice lawyer and general counsel brings a valuable perspective to our clients. Her New York qualification and deep understanding of banking and finance markets strengthen our international trade finance offering further.”
