HFW Continues To Expand Global Litigation Practice With Dubai Partner Hire

4 January 2021

HFW has continued to expand its global litigation practice with the hire of partner Nick Braganza.

Nick joins HFW’s Dubai office on 4 January from Clyde & Co, and will sit in the firm’s fraud and insolvency group.

His arrival follows that of insolvency litigation specialist Simon Jerrum, who joined HFW in London as a partner from Norton Rose Fulbright in 2020.

HFW has specialist fraud and insolvency teams in London, Brussels, Paris, Geneva, Dubai and Hong Kong.

Noel Campbell and Rick Brown, Global Co-Heads of Fraud and Insolvency, HFW:

“Nick is a very skilled disputes practitioner with significant experience of litigation and international arbitration throughout the Middle East and globally. His arrival represents another important step in the continued growth of our global fraud and insolvency team, and we are very pleased to welcome him to HFW.”

Nick has a broad commercial disputes practice – covering litigation and international arbitration – with a focus on shareholder and joint venture disputes, fraud and insolvency. Nick also has a wide range of experience advising on white collar crime matters, and conducting internal and regulatory investigations in the Middle East.

He has significant experience litigating in the DIFC, ADGM and UAE onshore courts, as well as major arbitral venues in the UAE and internationally.

Nick Braganza, Partner, HFW

“HFW is well known as a leading global disputes firm and a major player in the Middle East – I have regularly been against them litigating in the DIFC courts. On the fraud and insolvency side, HFW also stands apart for its truly global practice – the firm has first-rate practitioners everywhere from London to the Middle East and Asia, and being able to offer that international coverage really makes a difference to clients when it comes to complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes. I’m really looking forward to getting started and working with the team to further develop the practice.”

Nick’s arrival also continues the significant growth of HFW’s business in the Middle East.

HFW has been in the Middle East since 2006 and now has offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait City and Riyadh, making it one of the largest practices of any international law firm in the region.

Richard Gimblett, Dubai Office Head, HFW:

“Nick has an excellent reputation in the Middle East and represents a real boost to our commercial litigation and international arbitration offering. We are approaching our 15th anniversary in Dubai and remain fully committed to the Middle East. We will continue to strengthen and broaden our offering to clients to ensure that we are providing them with market-leading service across the region.”
