Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has continued to expand its London aviation finance and leasing practice with the recruitment of Rebecca Quayle.

Rebecca advises clients on all forms of asset finance, with particular expertise in aviation finance and leasing, and joins HFW’s London office as a partner from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.

HFW has one of the market’s largest global aviation finance and leasing practices, with leading teams across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, and recently further strengthened its offering in London with the relocation of partner David Brotherton from the firm’s Singapore office.

HFW is already ranked by The Legal 500 in the top tier for aviation in London.

Mert Hifzi, Global Head of Aerospace, HFW:

“This marks another important step in our plans to build the number one aviation finance practice in London, to complement our strength in aviation disputes, regulation, transactions and liability. Rebecca is an excellent technical lawyer and has a great reputation with clients, many of whom we share, while her work for residual value insurers aligns well with HFW’s global insurance group.

“With Rebecca’s arrival and David’s recent relocation, combined with Zohar Zik, Barbara Pansadoro and the rest of the team, we now have formidable aviation finance capability in London, and will actively target opportunities to further strengthen and broaden our offering to clients across the aviation industry worldwide.”

Rebecca advises leasing companies, airlines, insurers, financiers and arrangers on a wide range of aviation-related transactions, including sale and leasebacks, engine operating leasing, spare part financing, export credit transactions and commercial financing.

She also advises on aircraft residual value insurance and aircraft acquisitions and disposals.

Rebecca is ranked among the market’s leading aviation lawyers in both Chambers and The Legal 500, with client feedback in those directories praising her as “outstanding in her responsiveness, attention to detail and knowledge”, and for being “innovative and thorough in offering solutions”.

She previously practiced in New Zealand and Hong Kong, and is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand and a solicitor in England and Wales.

Rebecca Quayle, Partner, HFW:

“I am delighted to be joining HFW’s aerospace team. HFW’s sector-focussed approach to aviation, together with its broad geographical reach and depth of finance and leasing expertise, offers an exciting platform. I am greatly looking forward to working with David, Zohar, Barbara and the wider team to help further grow the offering in London and beyond.”

HFW’s market-leading global aerospace practice comprises more than 20 partners and over 80 lawyers in total across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

The team advise clients throughout the industry – including more than 100 airlines around the world – on all aspects of aviation liability, dispute resolution, regulatory, finance and leasing, and business and private aviation.
