HFW bolsters São Paulo office

27 February 2013

Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) has enhanced its capabilities in São Paulo by relocating Senior Associate Geoffrey Conlin there, effective 15 February 2013.

Geoffrey, a Senior Associate in HFW’s Insurance and Reinsurance Group, has excellent experience on a wide range of insurance issues related to property, marine, energy (onshore and offshore), oil and gas, power generation, casualty, liability and D&O. He has an MA in Spanish and Portuguese.

Paul Wordley, HFW’s head of Insurance/Reinsurance says: “we are delighted to be able to move Geoffrey to an important market for us and to see him helping significantly in the expansion of our business both in Brazil and across Latin America. HFW has worked on some significant insurance cases over the last few years – especially in the energy and natural resources sector – and his presence locally can only help our clients there. Geoffrey has been travelling to the region for a long period already and as such his move is the logical progression of his practice. I am sure he will be very successful”.

Jeremy Shebson, HFW’s São Paulo office head says: “our São Paulo office is delighted to have Geoffrey working within it. He will complement the existing team and work very closely with Fernando Albino to develop our practice in the region. We’ve worked hard to develop a leading reputation in Latin America and Geoffrey’s move will only add to our capabilities. We’re pleased to see the further investment in the office, which we expect to have an exciting future, mirroring the region’s own”.

HFW opened the São Paulo office in October 2011, when a market leading Aerospace team joined the firm, having opened the office two years previously at their former firm. The office acts as a hub for HFW in Latin America, providing a base for the development of HFW’s business across a number of sectors in the region.
