Global, sector-focused law firm HFW advised Argentina’s Compania General de Combustibles (CGC) on its acquisition of Sinopec Argentina Exploration and Production – the local unit of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp.
The deal includes Sinopec’s assets in Patagonia’s San Jorge and Cuyana basins, and means CGC is now one of the top-five oil and gas producers in Argentina.
HFW advised CGC on the English law aspects of the transaction, working alongside Marval O’Farrell Mairal.
The HFW team was led by Alex Kyriakoulis and also included Patrick Cheung, Tony Wong and Andrew Williams.
