Global, sector-focused law firm HFW advised Abu Dhabi listed company Al Seer Marine Supplies and Equipment Company on its joint venture with Netherlands-based maritime company Damen Shipyards and Singapore’s DTec Industries.

The joint venture will work with partners in the Middle East and other countries to sell, build and maintain high-quality marine vessels around the world. This is part of Al Seer’s plans to complete maritime deals totalling Dh36.7 billion (US$10 billion) over the next 10 years to generate growth.

HFW’s team advising Al Seer, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based International Holding Company, was led by Alex Kyriakoulis and included Tania De Swart, Catherine Emsellem-Rope and Jemima McDonald.

The firm also recently advised Al Seer on the pre- and post-delivery Shari’ah-compliant Islamic financing of two newbuild liquefied petroleum gas tankers constructed at Hyundai Heavy Industries, as part of its joint venture with BGN International. HFW’s team on that matter included Tien Tai and Andrzej Czernis.
