HFW Adds Lloyd’s List Europe Award To Asia-Pacific, Middle East Wins

11 December 2019

Global, sector-focussed law firm HFW has won the Excellence in Maritime Law award at the Lloyd’s List Europe Awards.

Lloyd’s List said the award recognises the law firm that has “offered the best service to the maritime industry” over the past 12 months. The award was judged by a panel of leading figures from across the shipping industry, who said they were “impressed by the breadth and complexity” of the work handled by HFW in 2019. The judges also noted the continued growth of the firm’s shipping practice, which recently included the launch of an office in Monaco with the hire of a market-leading team.

HFW also won the Excellence in Maritime Law awards at this year’s Lloyd’s List Middle East and Asia-Pacific awards.

Paul Dean, Global Head of Shipping, HFW:

“We pride ourselves on being the leading advisor to the shipping and maritime industry globally, so we are very proud to be recognised by Lloyd’s List as the sector’s best law firm in Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. These awards reflect the hard work of everyone in our team around the world, including our more than 200 specialist shipping lawyers and Master Mariners, and our business services professionals. I’m honoured to lead such a fantastic and talented group, and look forward to working with the team to continue to develop our offering to clients in 2020.”

Paul was recently recognised by Lloyd’s List as one of the 100 most influential people in the maritime industry and one of the market’s top 10 lawyers.
