HFW has won the dual accolade of being World ECR’s winner of both the Export Controls and Sanctions Law Firm of the Year (Europe) 2017.
In a significant achievement, HFW has been awarded both the Export Controls and Sanction Law Firm of the Year (Europe) 2017, reflecting the strength and depth of our leading sanctions and export controls’ practices.
Led by Anthony Woolich and Daniel Martin in London, HFW was commended in Export Controls for its ‘laudable initiative in servicing its clients’ in regards to creating a product which allows controlled cargoes to be identified and managed more proactively within the transport process, helping clients reduce both delays and costs.
The ‘firm’s creative approach’ to Sanctions was highlighted for ‘overcoming clients’ difficulties in new and practical ways’, such as offering fixed fees to carry out sanctions checks for shipowners and operators in connection with voyages to and from ports in sanctioned countries.
Anthony Woolich, Global Head of Competition and Regulatory comments “We are delighted to be recognised by these prestigious awards. It is a testament to the calibre and growth of our regulatory team, the complexity of the work we undertake and the practical help we aim to give our clients on a multijurisdictional basis. We are very grateful to our clients for their continued trust in our capability”
Daniel Martin further comments “This is the third year in a row that we have won or been runner up in the Export Controls category, and the first year we have won the Sanctions category. This year we have been involved in a host of exciting and challenging projects and it was particularly pleasing that the judges recognised our creative approach and our entrepreneurial spirit.”
