Yaman is UAE Managing Partner and heads our shipping and local litigation practice in the Middle East. He has more than 17 years of experience and has built a strong regional practice across the GCC and Middle East.

Yaman is highly regarded for both his shipping and extensive litigation experience. His practice mainly focuses on regional shipping disputes and general litigation before local courts across the region. This includes cargo and trade disputes, offshore collisions and incidents including salvage and marine pollution. He represents a number of banks in the UAE, P&I Clubs and other insurers, charterers and shipowners. He has successfully litigated a substantial number of disputes before UAE courts and other local courts within the Middle East throughout the last 15 years.

Yaman also advises and attends to a large number of non-marine related matters, including banking, civil and commercial disputes arising out of bankruptcy and insolvency, commercial contracts, tort and negligence and commercial agencies.

Whilst his practice is generally disputes oriented, he also regularly advises on non-contentious shipping, logistics, commercial contracts and regulatory issues. He also act and provide expert opinions in foreign commercial proceedings in respect of UAE law.

In addition, Yaman has extensive experience of handling criminal proceedings in the UAE involving corporate fraud, and has represented banks in respect of various finance disputes related to Letters of Credit and fraud in documentary credit transactions.
