Nick is an Associate in the construction team at HFW, specialising in dispute resolution and advisory in the construction, engineering and mining sectors. He was originally based in South Africa before relocating to London in 2019.

Nick has experience of advising employers, contractors, consultants and insurers on a wide range of projects.During his time in practice, Nick has litigated claims in several forums, including adjudication, arbitration and formal litigation.

His primary experience is in advising contractors on claims for extensions of time and expense and loss, though he has also acted on claims involving variations, defects disputes and urgent injunctions. He has also acted in various commercial disputes, including contractual claims for defective materials and back-end insurance litigation for a multinational contractor against both its insurance broker and professional indemnity insurers.

Nick advised multinational contractors on a wide range of projects in South Africa, including coal-fired power plants, shaft sinking works, office and residential developments and the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

He is a qualified attorney of the High Court of South Africa and will soon complete the QLTS programme to become a solicitor (England and Wales).
