James is an Associate in HFW’s Hong Kong office, specialising in complex commercial litigation, with a focus on fraud and insolvency related disputes. He has broad range of experience in the High Court and the Court of Appeal, including both trials and interlocutory relief.

James has worked on a wide range of commercial litigation matters throughout his career, with a particular emphasis on financial services disputes prior to joining HFW. His clients have included major domestic and international companies, individuals, insolvency practitioners, creditors and debtors, as well as acting for and against groups of claimants. He also has experience in off-shore jurisdictions, including the British Virgin Islands.

James is currently acting on a variety of commercial litigation matters ranging from High Court shareholder disputes, heavy-weight contentious insolvency litigation with an offshore element, to advising a shipping company in relation to a dispute arising out of an SPA.

James is qualified in both England and Wales, as well as South Africa.
