HFW one of "most highly regarded" for aviation

Who's Who Legal have just published the International Who's Who of Aviation Lawyers 2012 and HFW ranks amongst the Most Highly Regarded Firms.

The directory states that "Holman Fenwick Willan performs very well in this year’s edition, and is reaping the benefit of its acquisition of the aviation team from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in early 2011.

Ten nominees in total are selected, including two of the practice area’s leading experts worldwide. Sources “have the highest regard for” Jeremy Shebson, who heads the firm’s São Paulo office and is well known for his work on behalf of clients in the airline and airport sectors, as well as in aviation insurance-related arbitrations. Fernando Albino is also selected in the Brazilian research.

Four nominees are selected in London, including Nicholas M L Hughes, former chairman of the aviation committee of the Insurance Institute of London and “one of the leading authorities in the sector worldwide”. Giles Kavanagh heads the global aerospace team and was similarly lauded. Richard Gimblett is known for his aviation liability and regulatory practice as well as his insurance coverage work, and Sue Barham is much praised for the quality of her regulatory and dispute resolution work.

Alex Baykitch in Australia is well regarded for his disputes practice, and the firm is also strong in Asia. Peter T Coles is chair of the aviation committee of the IPBA and very well known in Hong Kong. Mert Hifzi is “very strong” for insurance and litigation, and Keith Richardson is also highly regarded for his contentious work, particularly in relation to liability matters.
