HFW continues to grow its Australian construction practice with hire of specialist construction team

Global, sector-focussed law firm HFW continues its growth in Australia with the partner hire of construction specialist Antony Riordan and a team of four, including a senior associate, two associates and a legal assistant, from Colin Biggers & Paisley.

The recent hire continues HFW's growth of its construction capability in Australia and follows the firm's move in Sydney to new premises in September 2020 to accommodate its growth strategy.

Gavin Vallely, Managing Partner, Australia:

"HFW is committed to growing our construction capabilities globally, and the firm has identified construction as a strategic priority for growth in Australia. We are very pleased to welcome Antony and his team to the firm."

Carolyn Chudleigh, Global Head of Construction, Sydney:

"We are delighted to welcome Antony and the team to HFW. Antony brings in-depth construction sector expertise as well as commercial litigation skills, allowing us to meet growing client demand in both these areas, across Australia and Asia. The members of the team joining HFW are very talented and focussed professionals and we look forward to working together as we continue our strategic growth in this industry sector."

Antony Riordan, Partner, HFW:

"HFW offers the precise opportunity I was looking for, an already impressive construction practice, locally and internationally, and in particular, access to a depth of international and local expertise and experience in the energy and resources space. HFW's leadership team is focused on growing the firm's Australian business generally and particularly in the construction, engineering and infrastructure space. I look forward to working closely with the construction team nationally and internationally to assist my colleagues to further develop that practice group and to leverage opportunities for our clients and our lawyers."

These recent additions continue HFW's growth strategy in Australia, after the recent arrival of a workplace relations team in Perth, a regulatory specialist in Perth and the promotion of a partner and special counsel in Perth and Sydney, respectively.
