HFW Trio Named Among Singapore's 20 Most Influential Lawyers
HFW's Aaron Kok, Terence Liew and Andrew Shannon have each been named among the 20 most influential young lawyers in Singapore.
Singapore Business Review said it had whittled down a list of "hundreds" of lawyers to identify the country's "most promising legal luminaries" aged 40 or under.
SBR added that the chosen 20 represent "Singapore's best lawyers in their fields".
No law firm had more lawyers named in the report than HFW.
Of Counsel Aaron Kok has more than a decade's experience working on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, private equity deals and complex restructurings. He also frequently advises on bespoke commercial agreements, including commodities supply agreements and distribution agreements.
Senior Associate Terence Liew specialises in liability claims and insurance matters across the aviation industry, including air carrier and airport liability. Triple qualified in England and Wales, Malaysia and Singapore, Terence is one of the very few locally-qualified Singapore lawyers with extensive experience in handling major aviation accidents and disputes work.
Associate and Master Mariner Andrew Shannon is able to combine his expertise as a shipping lawyer with unique experience as a former officer in the Merchant Navy and as an internal auditor for a US-based ship owner. He has 16 years' sea-going experience on a wide variety of ships, including oil tankers, Ro-Ro cargo, passenger, military supply, small container, and general cargo ships.

It marks the second consecutive year that HFW lawyers have been included in the SBR feature, after commodities expert Adam Richardson made the cut in 2018. Adam was one of eight HFW associates promoted to partner on 1 April 2018.
