About Erwan
Erwan Robert is a Partner in HFW’s Construction team. He advises contractors, employers, engineering companies, manufacturers and project consortia on complex construction disputes and international arbitration across the energy, infrastructure, transport, mining and industrial sectors. His experience includes nuclear, power, LNG, hydroelectric, road, rail, port and major industrial projects.
With more than a decade of experience, Erwan acts on major projects in France and internationally, with particular experience in Francophone Africa, Europe and the Middle East. He represents clients in ICC arbitrations conducted in both English and French and has handled disputes under a range of governing laws and arbitral seats. His practice covers FIDIC contracts, dispute board proceedings, claims management and disputes arising under EPC and EPCM arrangements.
Erwan also advises clients throughout the delivery of live projects, from tender-stage contract negotiation, risk allocation and project correspondence through to the analysis of delay, disruption, additional cost and performance claims. He assists with dispute avoidance, settlement strategy and the negotiation of settlement agreements, as well as proceedings before dispute boards, arbitral tribunals and French courts. This combination of contentious and project advisory experience enables him to provide commercially focused support at every stage of a project.
Erwan is qualified in Paris and speaks French and English fluently.
