About Toby
Toby is a transactional finance Partner in HFW’s Shipping team, advising ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, trustees, lenders and operators on a broad range of luxury asset transactions, with a particular focus on the acquisition, financing, ownership and structuring of yachts, helicopters and private jets. He also advises on financings secured against artworks and real estate, including residential and commercial property, as well as on general corporate lending transactions.
Toby regularly acts on complex, high-value and cross-border matters, often coordinating legal and tax advice across multiple jurisdictions. He has particular experience advising on financing structures involving the British Virgin Islands.
As an adjunct to his transactional practice, Toby has developed a niche working with matrimonial lawyers implementing security for lump sum payments owing in context of divorces and relationship breakdown.
Dual-qualified in England & Wales and the British Virgin Islands, Toby joined HFW from one of the world’s leading private client-focused law firms, where he led the firm’s European luxury assets practice.
