HFW Partner Paolo Pinna appointed to UNIDROIT Focus Group on the Implementation of the Space Protocol

HFW is pleased to announce that Partner Paolo Pinna has been appointed by UNIDROIT to join its Focus Group on the implementation of the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters Specific to Space Assets (the Space Protocol).

The Focus Group plays a key role in advancing the ratification and global adoption of the Space Protocol, recognising that strong industry support is a key factor for broader adoption with the intent of facilitating and standardising the financing of satellites and other space-based assets.  UNIDROIT is convening a multi-stakeholder Focus Group on the Implementation of the Space Protocol to coordinate and accelerate activities that will facilitate the Space Protocol’s entry into force and effective operation.

In addition to supporting governmental adoption, the initiative brings together a broad coalition of industry stakeholders, including satellite operators, manufacturers, financiers, insurers, and trade associations, with the shared objective of strengthening market confidence and enabling greater access to capital across the space sector.

The Space Protocol is widely seen as a cornerstone for the development of a robust and predictable legal regime, supporting the continued expansion of the global space economy.
