Senior Pricing Analyst

Qualified Senior Pricing Analyst sought to deliver pricing strategies and commercial support.

Job Purpose

The main responsibility of the Senior Pricing Analyst is to support the Head of Commercial Finance in delivering pricing strategies and commercial support.

This includes raising commercial awareness with Partners and influencing commercial decisions. Additionally, this role will advise partners and business development teams on pricing strategies aimed at winning client pitches, RFPs, and negotiations, whilst considering market conditions and balancing risk and reward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively analyse data and competitive landscape to identify commercial solutions in response to various pricing challenges encountered by the firm.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Partners to support client pitches and propose optimal pricing strategies, to include modelling and sensitivity testing of fee arrangements.
  • Support and maintain a database of existing on-going fee arrangements with clubs and other major clients, review profitability trends and recommend revisions in a timely manner.
  • Stay informed of current pricing trends within the legal market; learn and apply new concepts; seek to develop and propose innovations in the field.
  • Benchmark existing rates using market and internal data, and seek opportunities to optimise pricing strategies.
  • Prepare reports on pricing performance, trends, and recommendations for the Commercial Committee and senior stakeholders.
  • Deliver commercial awareness training to fee earners and Partners through formal training as well as through day-to-day interactions.
  • Support the annual budgeting process for designated practice areas.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • At least 5 years Pricing experience in a law firm or a professional services organisation.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA, or equivalent essential.
  • A commercially focused and highly numerate individual with a proven ability to influence and build trusted relationships with Partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator who can explain commercials with sufficient gravitas.
  • Strong Excel and modelling skills.
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Customer focussed, responsive, with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
