Global, sector focussed law firm HFW has advised CCB Financial Leasing as a borrower on the refinancing of one Airbus A350 on lease to Iberia.

The multijurisdictional transaction involved parties incorporated across China, Hong Kong, Spain and Ireland. CaixaBank S.A. acted as the lender, with the aircraft being registered in Spain.

CCB Financial Leasing, a subsidiary of China Construction Bank Corporation with a registered capital of RMB 11 billion, is one of the first financial leasing companies approved by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.

HFW negotiated the facility agreement and principal financing documents with the financing parties, alongside assisting in managing the airline and negotiating lessee facing documents with Iberia.

The team was led by Partner Rebecca Quayle, and included Associates Adam White, Madeleine Greig and Andreas Paleokrassas.

Rebecca Quayle, Partner, HFW:

“We are pleased to have supported CCB Financial Leasing on this cross-border aircraft refinancing. This marks another landmark transaction of theirs in the aviation sector, and we look forward to seeing their continued successes.”
