About Christopher
Christopher is an Associate in HFW’s Shipping Finance team, advising on a wide range of complex commercial and banking transactions across the global maritime sector. He acts for leading financial institutions, commercial owners, operators and investment funds on cross‑border fleet, yacht and jet financings and re‑financings, including bilateral and syndicated facilities, bridging loans and ECA‑backed facilities.
He has significant experience advising on sale and leaseback structures, particularly those involving major Japanese and Chinese leasing houses, and regularly assists clients with corporate financing arrangements and pre‑delivery financing for newbuild projects. Christopher also advises buyers and sellers on high‑value vessel and jet sale and purchase transactions, including multi‑jurisdictional closings and fleet‑level disposals.
Beyond financing work, Christopher provides strategic advice on vessel flagging and classification matters, flag state rules and regulatory compliance. He also has extensive experience supporting both charterers and owners on charterparties, ship management agreements, and vessel registration issues.
Christopher joined HFW in 2019 and is qualified in England and Wales.
