HFW continues international investment with eight partner promotions
Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has today announced the promotion of eight new partners, effective 1 April 2018.
The promotions reflect the firm's continued growth across its international network and its core industry groups. HFW has carried out six international mergers and alliances since January 2016 – including a fully-integrated transatlantic merger – while 56 percent of the firm's revenue in the last fiscal year (2016/17) was generated outside the United Kingdom, up from 35 percent in the 2010/11 fiscal year.
The new partners span six HFW offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and the United States, and five of the firm's global industry groups: Aerospace, Commodities, Construction, Insurance & Reinsurance, and Shipping.
All but one of the new partners are based outside London, with three in Australia, two in Dubai, and one each in Houston and Singapore.
There are two new partners in the firm's Aerospace, Insurance & Reinsurance and Shipping groups, with one each in Commodities and Construction.

The newly promoted partners are:
Charles Cockrell: Dubai, Aerospace
Charles specialises in aviation liability and regulatory law. He acts for a number of Middle East and African airlines, ground handlers, business jet operators and other aerospace entities on a wide range of matters. He has particular experience of handling major aviation accidents, having acted for airlines and their insurers on a number of recent high profile losses in the Middle East and Africa. Charles also has extensive experience in the airports sector. He has acted for many of the major airports in the MENA region in relation to dispute resolution, commercial and regulatory matters.
Sara Sheffield: Dubai, Insurance & Reinsurance
Sarah acts in a wide range of commercial litigation and international arbitration matters, with a focus on international financial crime and fraud, asset-tracing and recovery, and cross-border disputes. Sara also advises insurers, reinsurers and policyholders on insurance and reinsurance claims, subrogated recoveries, defence work and coverage issues.
Aileen Camacho: Houston, Aerospace
Aileen is an expert in aviation-related civil litigation, including personal injury, civil liability, and aviation insurance & reinsurance coverage disputes. She is a native Spanish speaker with extensive experience of Latin America.
Alex Kemp: London, Shipping
Alex is a marine sector litigator, with expertise in both wet and dry disputes. His key areas of focus are marine insurance and complex casualty response, including all aspects of limitation, jurisdiction, collisions, salvage, wreck removal and general average. Alex is a member of the Association of Average Adjusters.
Simon Shaddick: Melbourne, Shipping
Simon specialises in shipping and marine dispute resolution. He has particular expertise in the offshore energy sector, where he has dealt with disputes relating to the construction, chartering, operation and insurance of drilling rigs, FPSOs and FSOs, other surface and subsea installations, and a wide range of offshore support vessels. Simon has considerable international experience, having advised on offshore projects in Australia, New Zealand, South-East Asia, the North Sea, Brazil and West Africa. He is qualified in both England and Australia.
Brendan McCashin: Melbourne, Insurance & Reinsurance
Brendan specialises in insurance-related litigation as well as non-contentious insurance and reinsurance matters. Brendan has acted on a wide range of insurance and reinsurance matters for Australian-based and international clients, including flooding, storm, earthquake, fire and explosion events, electricity supply issues and machinery break-downs, as well as high-value class action litigation, public and product liability, and subrogation claims.
Adam Richardson: Singapore, Commodities
Adam is a commodities specialist with a focus on international trade and shipping. His practice covers contentious work, in particular international arbitration, and non-contentious matters such as drafting and advising on physical commodities contracts (including storage, warehousing, marketing and distribution agreements), structured trade contracts, procurement contracts and project documentation for use in shipbuilding and offshore projects.
Stephanie Lambert: Sydney, Construction
Stephanie is a commercial property lawyer with a focus on foreign investment into Australia, the financing and development aspects of major projects, and agribusiness investments. Stephanie has worked on some of Sydney's most iconic urban regeneration projects for institutional developers and property funds, and on some of Australia's largest agribusiness deals. Stephanie is a New South Wales practitioner who is also admitted in the Australian High Court and as a Lawyer and Barrister in the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory.
