About Kirsten
Kirsten specialises in international commercial dispute resolution, with a focus on advising clients acting in the shipping, logistics and marine insurance sectors. She acts for a range of ship owners, charterers, logistics companies and insurers involved in disputes arising from charterparties, bills of lading, collisions, groundings, explosions, “off-spec” bunkers, fatalities at sea and general average. Her work often involves complex multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration.
As part of her non-contentious practice, Kirsten has delivered training to a large oil major on the legal and practical implications of importing and exporting waste substances to and from the EU.
Kirsten spent six months in HFW’s Shanghai office where she acted on a range of contentious “wet” and “dry” shipping matters. She has also spent time in HFW’s regulatory, insurance and commodities departments.
Kirsten is qualified in England and Wales.
