About Adam

Based in our Perth office, Adam Handley is a partner with a wealth of experience. He has a strong regulatory, corporate and major projects background, working with Governments, Multinationals and the private sector on many notable and high profile transactions and projects over the past 30 years. Over the last decade, one of Adam’s key areas of focus has been on facilitating mergers and acquisitions and project development for North Asian investors, particularly Chinese investors, in the energy and resources, agricultural and other sectors in Australia and throughout the Indo Pacific.

Acknowledged as a leading advisor to major Chinese State-Owned Enterprises and private entities involved in Australian investments since the initial wave in 2007, Adam has been instrumental in over 25 significant Asian led investments and major projects in his region. His expertise extends to advising governmental bodies on substantial regulatory and commercial projects, including highlights such as representing the State of Western Australia in the (withdrawn) WA Ports long term lease proposals and Stage2 of the Ord Kimberley Expansion Project.

Additionally, he is the Immediate Past President of the Australia China Business Council (WA), immediate past National Vice President of the Australia China Business Council and the current President of the ACBC (WA) Resources Committee. He is also the convenor and moderator of the Western Australian Premier’s China WA Strategic Resources Dialogue (since inception of the dialogue in 2017). Adam is also a Non Executive Director of ASX listed Heavy Rare Earth’s company Northern Minerals Limited.
