Partnership Tax Accountant

We are currently looking to recruit a Assistant Partnership Tax Accountant, to join our Partnership & Tax team.

The Role

Based at our London office, you will be working with the Head of Tax and Partnership Affairs and the Group Tax Manager and will be responsible for providing tax compliance and advisory services to the partners and the firm. The role is suitable for an individual with previous experience in partnership and personal tax and who will be comfortable with senior stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tax computations for the partnerships and LLPs within the HFW LLP group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Organise and collate information for tax releases in respect of personal tax reliefs.
  • Assist in the bi-annual partners tax payments process in collaboration with the firm’s external tax advisors, facilitating smooth and efficient transactions.
  • Assist in the calculations of partners’ tax reserves, including DTR and equalisation.
  • Assist with the calculation of firm’s cash flow forecasting in relation to tax payments.
  • Annual review of tax and statutory compliance deadlines in co-ordination with other tax advisors/accountants to ensure compliance calendar is accurate.
  • Preparation and periodic review of process notes, this includes reviewing tax processes with a view to identifying areas for improvement.
  • Act as one of the key contacts for HMRC, partners, external tax advisors and partners’ accountants on tax matters.
  • Provide cover and support when Tax manager is unavailable.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects pertaining to the firm’s and partners tax affairs.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Newly qualified CTA or qualified ATT with at least 3 years of personal tax experience
  • Partnership tax experience is desirable
  • Proven experience in tax compliance and reporting, preferably within a professional services or financial services environment.
  • Strong in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel;
  • Experience of Elite 3e is preferred but not vital
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid numeracy skills with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proactive attitude, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and contribute to team goals effectively.
