Leading international law firm Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) is delighted to announce that Partner Amanda Davidson has been awarded the Order of Australia announced in today’s Australia Day Honours List (26 January 2015).
Awarded in relation to services to maternal health, the honour relates to Amanda’s role in chairing PEARLS, a not-for-profit organisation established under the auspices of the Heart Research Institute in Australia, to raise funds in support of preeclampsia, a common medical condition of high blood pressure in pregnancy.
“I am very proud to have been awarded this honour, which will help to promote awareness of preeclampsia. Awareness is critical to being able to avoid the devastating consequences which can occur in preeclampsia and is the key to saving many lives. With one in 10 pregnancies affected in Australia, it is important that we continue to raise awareness and funds to support medical research” said Davidson.
Richard Crump, Senior Partner of Holman Fenwick Willan said “The firm strongly supports the work and research carried out by PEARLS and we are very proud of Amanda’s efforts to highlight this condition. This significant honour is very well deserved and we join others in congratulating Amanda in her own right and as our Partner”
