Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) is delighted to announce the recruitment of James Lewis and Robert Finney as Partners from the London office of Dewey & LeBoeuf.
James Lewis has over 20 years’ experience in a broad range of international and domestic corporate finance transactions, IPOs, equity and debt issues, public and private mergers and acquisitions, and re-domicile transactions and reorganisations. He has advised on numerous transactions in the insurance sector, including the Lloyd’s, London and Bermuda insurance markets, and has also advised US insurers accessing the European capital markets. In addition, James has worked for clients in the energy sector on a number of corporate matters.
James joins HFW’s highly rated insurance transactions team, led by Richard Spiller, Ashwani Kochhar and Ambereen Salamat, who joined the firm in 2011. In addition, with HFW’s already strong energy offering, James bolsters still further the expertise that HFW are able to provide across most of the firm’s major offices.
Robert Finney‘s practice focuses primarily on financial services regulation issues, advising financial institutions and regulators, with significant experience in securities, derivatives and commodities, as well as in advising exchanges and other institutions on their activities in relation to these areas. As such, he will work very closely with HFW’s market-leading global team of commodities lawyers, based in London, Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore and Melbourne, in providing a full regulatory, financial and physical trading capability to commodity clients. Robert will also work alongside and support the international financial services and trade regulatory practices in London and Brussels. Robert has been voted ‘Best Legal Advisor – Regulatory & Commercial’ at the prestigious Compliance Register Platinum Awards in both 2010 and 2011.
