More about Prashant

Prashant is an Associate in the Commodities team specialising in international dispute resolution, with a particular focus on commercial disputes, commodities, shipping and trade.

Prashant has advised on a variety of disputes in the English High Court and Court of Appeal where HFW was successful for its clients. His experience includes acting for the successful respondents in the Court of Appeal in RBRG Trading v Sinocore International [2018] EWCA Civ 838 (a case looking at the complexities of how a purported fraud can impact the enforcement of an arbitral award) and acting for the successful claimants in Bunge SA v Huaya Maritime Corp [2017] EWHC 90 (one of the latest authorities on freezing injunctions and contempt orders against shadow directors). Prashant has also represented clients in international arbitration proceedings under various arbitral rules, including LCIA, SIAC, LMAA, GAFTA and FOSFA.

In addition, Prashant has advised on a variety of non-contentious matters in relation to commodities, shipping and general commercial contracts, including drafting and reviewing loan agreements, security documents, sale contracts and charterparties.

Prashant has undertaken a virtual secondment for a large Australian mining and metals company, as well as secondments with a leading Geneva-based agricultural firm and with an Italian multinational oil and gas company. He has previously spent six months in HFW's Singapore office, assisting with shipping and commodities' disputes.

Prashant is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales.

We are working with clients across our international network to help them minimise the impact of COVID-19 on their business and to prepare for what's next. To find out more, visit our dedicated Covid-19 hub.

The London office is the firm's largest, with over 250 lawyers.

It offers the full range of services that HFW provides globally, with partners from the London office working closely with all the other HFW offices, as well as in many jurisdictions around the world. HFW moved to its current premises in September 2008, having previously been in nearby Lloyds Avenue for almost 100 years.
