HFW attended the Port Finance International Middle East Conference which took place in Dubai on 10-11 December 2012. The conference addressed a wide range of issues which it sought to explore, analyse and discuss including the latest port developments, plans for further port development and expansion, investment and growth opportunities, financing solutions to port development and future prospects for ports in the Middle East region. The conference was well attended by key industry experts from the ports and terminals industry as well as from the banking, regulatory and legal sectors.
HFW Associate, Yaman Hawamdeh presented on the ports' and operators' liability regimes focussing on the legal and judicial systems in the Middle East, the laws governing shipping practice and the framework for operator's terms and conditions.
