Humayun Ahmad is a Senior Disputes Associate in our Dubai team with a particular emphasis on construction as well as the Saudi, Abu Dhabi and Oman markets. Additionally, he is involved in advising clients in relation to Bilateral Treaty Arbitrations in relation to projects across South East Asia.

He advises clients on bringing and defending complex and high-value claims arising out of construction, oil and gas and energy projects. He regularly represents his clients in international and domestic arbitration proceedings and has extensive experience of proceedings under the main institutional rules including SIAC, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA and ICC. Additionally, Humayun has handled numerous ad hoc arbitrations in Oman.

Humayun has been based in the Middle East for the last 11 years. Following a three-year stint in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Humayun moved to join an international law firm in Oman in 2012, before relocating to the UAE in 2016.

Legal 500 has described Humayun as a "key figure" and a "senior lawyer who is very approachable and does not seek to over-complicate his advice".

The firm's Dubai office opened in 2006 and has grown significantly over the years.

Now with 13 partners, 1 legal director and 26 associates, the office offers both GCC clients and international clients with operations in the region an integrated service covering dispute resolution, transactions and regulation across a number of industry sectors. Our team of lawyers, many of whom are Arabic speakers, come from diverse backgrounds and have a strong understanding of and established working relationships with government departments, regulatory bodies, agencies and locally qualified lawyers throughout the GCC region.
