How to negotiate with the EU
HFW is pleased to be supporting this exclusive EU referendum event organised by the UK Chamber of Shipping.
Date
24 January 2017
Location
UK Chamber of Shipping, London
Summary
HFW Partner, Toby Stephens will give a brief introduction before passing over to Lord Lamont who will speak to an exclusive audience of UK Chamber of Shipping members and guests on his experiences, and to discuss the path ahead as the UK prepares to leave the EU.
Norman Lamont was Chancellor of the Exchequer through the early 1990s, later described as the most effective Chancellor since the war. He is now the UK Trade Envoy to Iran, in which he has long-standing expertise; he regards it as the biggest opportunity since the downfall of the Soviet Union. He was among the most senior political figures to support exiting the European Union and represented the UK in Open Europe’s ‘war games’ – a simulation of trade negotiations with the EU to discover likely tactics, strategies and outcomes.
This event is the latest part of the UK Chamber’s award winning communications work regarding the EU referendum, which has included events with other senior speakers such as Liam Fox MP and David Davis MP.
This event is free of charge for members of the UK Chamber of Shipping. There is a fee of £75pp + VAT for non-members.
