HFW CONTINUES GROWTH WITH PARTNER AND LEGAL DIRECTOR PROMOTIONS

Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has announced the promotion of four new partners and five new legal directors, effective 1 April 2023.

The promotions continue HFW's growth across its core sectors, services, and international network.

New Partners

Barbara Pansadoro (Aerospace, London)

Barbara specialises in asset and structured finance and has a considerable experience in aviation finance and leasing transactions, amongst which, export credit financings, Jolcos, tax leases with commercial debt, Islamic deals to operating leases, warehouse facilities, bridge financings, PDPs financings, sale and lease back, aircraft and engine purchase contracts.

Ian Hughes (Shipping, London)

Ian is a banking and finance lawyer with specialist experience in the shipping, superyacht, offshore and aviation sectors. Ian advises banks and other financial institutions, private wealth backed lenders, funds, insurance companies and owners on a variety of matters including new financings, sale and purchase, leasing, restructurings, work outs and enforcements.

Michael Buffham (Commodities, London)

Michael's practice covers contentious and non-contentious work concerning all aspects of commodities, including physical and financial sale and purchase, trade finance and transportation, with expertise in sugar, crude oil and petroleum products, biomass, metals and LNG. Michael also has extensive experience in commercial, industrial and fraud litigation and International Arbitration.

Sakina Chenot (Risk, Compliance & Conflicts, London)

Sakina has extensive experience advising international firms on a range of regulatory, commercial and compliance issues including ethics, conflicts of interest, money laundering, data protection, supplier and client contracts, NDAs and innovation.

New Legal Directors

Alix d'Arjuzon (Aerospace, Brussels)

Alix advises and represents different clients in the transport sector, such as major airlines, insurers and other aerospace entities, on a wide range of legal matters, including finance and leases, the drafting and negotiation of contracts and regulatory matters. She has extensive expertise in litigation and arbitration.

Jemima McDonald (Corporate & Commercial, Abu Dhabi)

Jemima is a corporate and commercial lawyer with an in-depth knowledge of the defence and security sector. She has substantial experience in advising on complex defence procurement transactions across aviation, maritime and security and public procurement, intellectual property, product safety and export control.

Jenny Salmon (Shipping, London)

Jenny specialises in marine insurance and shipping disputes. She regularly handles disputes under marine policies, including H&M, war risks and P&I policies. Jenny has extensive experience drafting marine and war risks policy terms and advising on updates and amendments. Jenny speaks Greek and spent 2 years in HFW's Piraeus office.

Mark Waters (Aerospace, London)

Mark's practice covers a broad range of aviation-related work, both contentious and non-contentious. He advises domestic and international airlines, products manufacturers and airports on a variety of commercial and regulatory matters, including commercial agreements, licensing arrangements, operational approvals and safety regulation. He also handles major commercial and accident-related litigation for clients across the aviation sector, as well as coverage disputes for aviation insurers.

Louis Cornut-Gentille (Insurance & Reinsurance, Paris)

Louis' practice focuses on insurance law as he advises on the wording and application of many types of policies on a regular basis. He deals with complex insurance claims involving specialty products such as professional indemnity, financial lines, warranty & indemnity, marine, and construction.
