Julian is a fully bilingual (Arabic/English) lawyer who specialises in corporate and commercial law. His practice includes transactional work, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, securities, franchising and agencies, intellectual property, finance, and regulatory, start-up and cross-border matters. Julian has advised a broad range of local, regional, and international clients including those from the retail, hospitality, construction, banking and financial, education, healthcare, aviation, and media and technology sectors.

As a former academic and university professor with training and expertise in both the civil and common law, Julian has a nuanced understanding of the intricacies of multijurisdictional legal services and the social, economic and cultural policies underlying legal work. He has researched and lectured on business law, communications and media policy, and intellectual property. He co-authored the 2017 edition of Insurance and Reinsurance in Kuwait: Overview for Practical Law, (A Thomson Reuters Business) and co-contributed to the Kuwait section of the publication Business Laws of Kuwait and Qatar for Thomson Reuters in 2013.

Julian is dual qualified in New York, United States and in Ontario, Canada.
