More about Cecilie

Cecilie is an Associate in HFW's Shipping Department. Her principal area of practice is international commercial dispute resolution arising from charterparties/bills of lading, with a particular focus on "dry" shipping.

Cecilie has acted for clients in both English High Court proceedings and international arbitration, oftentimes involving multi jurisdictional aspects. Her recent experience includes advising on a complex charterparty dispute arising from negligent stowage and the resulting damage to high value project cargo and representing a livestock exporter in a claim for damages arising from the engine breakdown of a purpose-built livestock carrier.

Cecilie has acted for shipowners, charterers, commodity traders and their insurers and P&I Clubs.

Since joining the firm, Cecilie has spent 6 months working in the Commodities Department in HFW's Paris office and has undertaken a secondment to an International Group P&I Club.

Cecilie is also fully fluent in German, French, Norwegian, Czech and Slovak and has a working knowledge of Danish and Swedish.

Cecilie is qualified in England and Wales.

We are working with clients across our international network to help them minimise the impact of COVID-19 on their business and to prepare for what's next. To find out more, visit our dedicated Covid-19 hub.

The London office is the firm's largest, with over 250 lawyers.

It offers the full range of services that HFW provides globally, with partners from the London office working closely with all the other HFW offices, as well as in many jurisdictions around the world. HFW moved to its current premises in September 2008, having previously been in nearby Lloyds Avenue for almost 100 years.
